Hi there internet fans, it’s Ryan Perry with Simple Biz Support. If you’re not able to see me very clearly, it’s probably because I really didn’t compose this shot very well. Today, I’d like to talk about how to compose a video so that the lighting is proper without using any expensive lighting kits. Alright, so option number one, lighting behind us, not so good. Let’s go ahead and close those blinds up and see what happens.

Alright, so the quality looks better now but, I bet you we could do even better than this. Right now, my best light source, which is natural light, is directly behind me. All I have on are some fluorescent lights and those are coming straight down. So what I’m going to do, is I’m going to open up the blinds and am actually going to sit on the other side of the desk and have that natural light flowing in and facing me, and let’s see what happens then.

Alright, so here I am now on the other side of the desk, I have the blinds open, I have natural light falling into my office. I still have the fluorescent lights on above me but with all that light coming in, you could see how much better this video is going to look. And if I’m trying to represent myself as a business professional, I want to make sure that my image comes off correctly.

The other thing I’ve done is I’ve thrown up a white screen behind me, simply because a lot of times my office, I don’t know about you, but mine gets a little cluttered and the last thing I want people to look at is all the clutter in my office, so having a simple dropdown white screen or even just a white wall or a colored wall, is a very simple way to help improve the video quality. Hope you found this information helpful. This is Ryan with Simple Biz Support.
