So many people get involved with online marketing because they want more freedom in life, but what they might not understand is how important it is to be organized in their business. It is a fact that being organized in your business will offer you more freedom and time to work on expanding your business. If you’re just starting out, you’ll see so many cool tools and s/w programs that all promise to make life easier for you. Some tools, like Quicken, are just no-frills tools, even though it’s a very valuable tool. Others are not important in the very beginning, such as keyword research and manipulation software products. So what you’ll do is create folders for the different programs and tools that interest you. Make folders and label them for different software programs such as keyword research, email clients, accounting, article spinning, website building, etc. Now, all you do is just save them or download them to your folders, then when you have time you can read or try them. Keep a list of the things you have already rejected (and why) so that you don’t accidentally download something you’ve already tried and rejected.

Keeping organized lists will be a tremendous help, too. If you have, or promote, more than one product, and you do email marketing, then you’ll have more than one email list. You don’t want to get your lists mixed up or you could accidentally offend someone and cause them to find someone else to buy from! But you’ll find any good email program will have functions that help keep this easy. One good example is Mozilla Thunderbird which will let you manage multiple email lists and personal email addresses.

Try to put together a workable schedule for your day and week. You’ll have more success with completing your work if you simply plan in large periods of time. You don’t have to elaborate, it can be simple but it’s important to write it down and hold yourself accountable to it. Doing this will get your brain into the habit of working and not being distracted. If you don’t have any idea at all of what you want to get done, you’ll be more likely to not get anything done.

Organizing your internet marketing business does not have to be as detailed as planning every single second of your day. It can be as simple as a to-do list plus a filing system. Most IM-ers (old and new) find that the more organization their businesses have, the more money they see coming in. Organizing your business saves you time and helps keep you focused on the task at hand: earning money!
