I got a present of a jigsaw puzzle from my o/h a couple of days ago. Yes I know, I know what you’re thinking, surely jigsaw puzzles are for children or old people! Maybe I am getting just a tiny bit old! It will come to you too!! Jigsaw puzzles help you to forget your worries because you get so immersed in them! I admit to being eager to get it started; its years since I did one. Over a few days I have been sorting out the edge and then slowly putting in small sections of the puzzle.
After a few hours of working online building my business, I would take an hour off and spend some time on my jigsaw.
And then it hit me!! Doing my jigsaw was so similar to doing my business! Slowly putting pieces together to build up a whole picture! Doing this jigsaw puzzle was just like building my business on the internet!
Because you have the picture on the box to show you how the puzzle should look when it is done. And you know how you want your business to be like when its running at full throttle! The edge, or framework of your jigsaw is where you will always start. Its the beginning. Just like in Internet Marketing, first you put in the foundations. So you find an autoresponder, and purchase a domain name. You start a blog and you build a capture page. Because that’s the frame for your jigsaw puzzle.
As soon as the outline is done you can start on the centre. The centre in your business is the marketing. Each little patch of the jigsaw you work on, is like one area of your marketing. Such as Social Media,Video Marketing or writing articles.
And just like the jigsaw puzzle, it takes some time to get everything in the right place. There are times when you have to stop and take a break because it is not going right. When you return, everything is a little clearer and simpler. It all begins to make sense.
And then suddenly large parts are coming together and interlinking. You are beginning to see the whole picture. Little bits that seemed to make no sense at first suddenly become an important part of the whole picture.
It is all clear now and everything is happening quickly! Every piece of the puzzle is working together and becoming the whole picture that you wanted at the beginning.
