Increasing Traffic Will Increase Your Income

Only a brief mention will be given here to the general methods available for getting people to visit your website, as you have probably heard, and read, at least a little about them already. Basically, traffic can come from one of the following three sources: search engines, paid advertising or referrals.

There are pros and cons to using each of those sources to get traffic to your website, but it is not a case of deciding which one is best, and then using just that method. By focusing on just one method of getting traffic then you are severely limiting yourself, yet this is a common mistake that many people make.

If you want to maximize the amount of traffic that your website receives, which is something that everyone wants, then you need to use not one traffic source, or even two traffic sources, you need to use all three of them. The more sources you use, the more traffic you will get – it is really just common sense.

However, if you really want to maximize the number of visitors to your website, and make as much money as possible, then learning just the basics of those traffic gaining methods will not be enough. The reason being that every website owner wants the same thing as you, more visitors to their site, and you are all competing for the same visitors.

Therefore, it is more than likely that your competitors are already implementing the basic strategies that you are using, or which you soon will be. If that is the case, then whilst you will can still get a reasonable amount of visitors to your website, you will be missing out on a lot more, who will be visiting the websites of your competitors.

The question is then – What can you do to make yourself stand out from your competitors? The answer is that you need to implement traffic gaining strategies that are above and beyond the basic ones that your competitors use.

Fortunately, you can also learn about these advanced strategies for free, though rather than looking on websites, blogs and forums for them, you will instead need to download one of the eBooks or reports that experienced Internet marketers have made available. These require no payment from you at all, either upfront or in the future – you just need to sign-up to their email list..

5 Awesome Traffic Tactics You Haven’t Heard Before

Generate Targeted Traffic

As the web grows and changes, there are specific things that nobody seems to discuss about how to reach more people. Did you know that it actually takes less effort then before? Realizing simple things about your audience will have you positioned to reach a lot more people.

The first secret is to have interesting conversations. Have conversations with others in your market, and your customers. You can do this via your blog by linking to blog posts on other blogs that are interesting to you. Use their ideas to help you create something that your audience would be interested in reading. Link to their post inside of yours and they will get a notice called a “trackback” in their comments section. Normally, the conversation will start and bring you both more attention.

You can meet a ton of new people on Twitter. Do a Twitter search to find people talking about the type of products you sell. Follow them to stay updated on what they do and interact with your audience. As you talk to more people, more conversations will happen with other people.

Secret two is your story. People don’t want to do business with companies, they want to work with people. Is there a reason you sell what you do? Do you have a background story related to your why you sell your products? Has anything happened to you in the past that pushed you to do what you do? Tell your story and you will get more sales and better customers. This will qualify people and help them get to know who you are. The perception of you that your customer takes from what you do is important and some things may be best left unsaid.

Secret number three is remembering to treat your audience like real people. People focus far too much on numbers, conversions, sales statistics, etc… Every potential customer is a person and you should always focus on that. Do you like when you are forced to view a pop up window? They may not like it. Think about your customers first and the experience they have on your sites. There are two sides to your website, your sales and the experience of the visitor. Think of both to get more sales with the same traffic.

Top Secret number four is relationships. Building the right relationships for your business can get you immediate massive traffic. My email is full of joint venture requests every day. I pay attention to people that I care about. Imagine what would happen if you picked up the phone and asked your friend for help. Wouldn’t that work better than sending a spammy email to someone you don’t know?

You should build true relationships with your customers. The better they know you and like you, the more likely they are to buy from you and your company. Do a show on Ustream, respond to people that comment on your blog posts, and deliver content they want to devour and enjoy.

The final secret is to find the communities in your market. Your prospects are already spending time hanging out somewhere online. Find them and join. Help others and answer questions they have, before you know it, they will start searching for you. The more people you help, the faster your reputation will grow. Before long, you’ll have a happy audience by being part of the community and helping others.
