If you’ve heard about SEO, you’ve probably heard the phrase that ‘content is king.’ You can most likely envision King Content sitting on his throne surrounded by his court (which includes link building, guest posting, video marketing, and blogging). While you may not aspire to become an Internet star, you might wish to know how the content affects your readers.

  1. It’s all about people. Your content demonstrates to your customers that you can do the job up to their satisfaction. These customers are your treasures, the ones who have the ability to say ‘yes’ and help you grow your business. No matter how much you optimize with your keywords, you still have to talk to your people.
  2. These people have standards.  Google can’t control who makes websites and what websites are made, but they can exert influence over what gets noticed on their own search engine. They realize that people are using their website, and that the displayed results should make up the best, rather than merely what was there.
  3. These people have friends.  Crappy content written for SEO isn’t going to be shared. Think about crappy SEO content as those pieces which have a huge amount of saturation of their keyword. The stuff that people share with their friends is insightful, entertaining, useful, or outside of the box. When friends share, other friends listen.
  4. These people don’t care about SEO  If you’re a dentist, a doctor, an auto mechanic, a teacher, or any other profession outside of internet marketing or SEO, do you honestly care about the amount of optimization which has been done to a site? If you can read something that you found here at Simple Biz Support and laugh and share, that’s all that matters, right?
  5. People love creativity. It’s true. People love creativity. They love to be exposed to cool things. They love content which speaks to their soul. They want to take it to the next level, and are raising their personal standards to make it happen. The content that you have on your site is a representation of you and it should show all of the creativity and flair that you can muster.

Drive it home with the content that you make. Instead of striving to meet SEO standards, you want to thrive and make it count. You know why? Because even though you may be the highest ranked, a real person is going to be making the judgment.
